When did you commit to an alcohol-free lifestyle?
1/4/2021 - after drinking my way through COVID-2020, on the brink of almost closing my event and travel planning business + an unexpected skin cancer surgery, my body decided it was time to let go of that which was holding me back, delaying my healing, and keeping me from thriving in life and business. Making the conscious choice to live a life free from alcohol was the best gift I’ve ever given myself, my family, my friends, and my business.
What are some unexpected joys you've experienced since going alcohol-free?
Being present to life vs avoiding it!
Glowing skin + I have cheekbones again….the inflammation from wine/alcohol had really taken a toll.

Name a hard part about being alcohol-free.
It’s an unraveling. Feeling your feelings can be painful, but it's so worth it. It’s now my greatest superpower, but it felt a little lonely and isolating at first. My world was built around social drinking and events.
Favorite social media accounts, podcasts, or books about sober living
Geez I just realized I don’t follow any….I do recall an Australian based blog that I read when I first quit drinking and I can’t for the life of me remember the name of it but it helped me feel normal.
Favorite alcohol-free drinks!

Advice for anyone considering going alcohol-free:
All the cool kids are doing it. No, seriously, if you’re on the fence, remember the most challenging part is…deciding. Plus, today, many bars and restaurants make mocktails that will still rock your world - the placebo effect is insane, and yet you wake without a hangover and no anxiety!
Additional thoughts
Being sober has shown my teenage son how much fun is possible without alcohol. When I grew up, I thought liquid courage was the only way. Now, I live and lead by example and have broken the alcohol addiction that runs rampant in my lineage.
