As a woman in my late fifties who comes from a wine-appreciating family, I think it was a bit of a shock when I told them I decided to stop drinking wine. Every weekend, gathering and celebration always includes wine. I’m a health coach who’s been in the health and fitness industry for almost 25 years. I would teach, train, and coach while eating a healthy, mostly organic diet and doing everything to support my own wellness. Everything that is except I still enjoyed wine.

I help women gain hormonal balance naturally so they can lose excess weight, belly fat, enjoy more energy and better sleep to live their best second half. I teach The MELT Method which deals with our Neurofascial system. MELT is “hands-off” bodywork that anyone can learn and do for themselves at home. I coach women on how to get better sleep, lose weight and build a stronger, more stable body. I knew the negative effects of alcohol and how it affects hormones, sleep, our gut lining and our cognitive function. But I still enjoyed wine on the weekends. Until one day, after going over a pros and cons list, I decided there were just too many cons and not enough pros to continue lying to myself. How could I coach women and help them if I wasn’t going to make every commitment in my own life to be as healthy as I possibly could? I decided that to live my true authentic self and be not only the coach I want to be, but to live the healthiest and fullest life possible, I was going to ditch the wine for good.

I teach a specific MELT sequence so my clients can help themselves fall and stay asleep. We all know that even one glass of wine or one alcoholic drink negatively affects our cortisol levels and therefore our sleep. The negative effects go way beyond sleep when it comes to our health and wellness. Our hormones, gut lining, heart and brain are all affected by any amount of alcohol.

I decided that to live my true authentic self and be not only the coach I want to be, but to live the healthiest and fullest life possible, I was going to ditch the wine for good.

I love to have a special beverage to kick back, relax and enjoy. As much as I love a good bubbly water with lime, it just doesn’t always cut it. I’ll mix a bit of tart cherry juice with bubbly water to spice things up a bit but I still was looking for a richer, more bold taste. Finding Loren's Alcohol-Free bottle shop was a game changer. From the delicious dealcoholized wine to the functional seltzers with adaptogens to help wind down, I have found a shop that is a dream come true for
anyone with a taste for a truly smart adult beverage.
